Eating snacks in between meals is good. The reason why I say so is because I have this practice. I love eating but I am still concerned with my health. Though eating in between meals is good, this is not the same with people who are dieting. The thing is if you belong to the category, you might be frustrated when you found yourself eating snacks wherein you are not supposed to.

It is tempting to eat snacks in between meals. There are times when you get hungry easily a few minutes after eating your meal. Well, if that is the case, you will ruin your diet. If you are not good in terms of giving yourself discipline on this matter, you may end up destroying everything that you have started and pledged doing. With this, you are on the right page. Eat foods high in protein.The reason why you need to eat foods high in protein is because these will prolong your feeling of being full. Well, foods that are high in protein are not easily digested. So, logic says, if the food is not yet digested in your stomach, the tendency is you will still feel full. With regards to this, make sure that you are including foods that are high in protein your meal such as meat, fish, chicken, etc.

Spend longer time eating.Another tip that you can consider so that you will not be able to eat snacks in between meals is to spend longer time eating. Do this if you are not in a hurry. You can schedule eating in the most comfortable time that you can think of. And, as much as possible, have someone to eat with you so that you will have the chance to talk about things while eating.
When your focus is only on the food, you will surely finish eating your meal instantly. And when that happens, after a few minutes or hours, you are hungry again. And last thing you know, you are already munching. Well, be wise on this matter. It is good to have someone to eat with you while talking about relevant things. When you do this, you will be able to avoid eating snacks in between meals.

Make a plan of what you will be eating.If you want to avoid eating snacks in between meals, you should make a plan of what you will be eating. Well, I know that this is not common to all, but if you have a goal, you should force yourself to do this. It is good to have a plan so that you will be able to meet your nutrition needs.

Your plan includes the kinds of foods to eat and the time of eating. Well, include also in your plan that you need to see to it that there is no space provided for your snacks. When you already have a plan, you have to stick with it. Remember that nothing will happen if you will not stick with the plan. You have to see to it that there is something good that is happening to what you have planned.

Stop snacking slowly. I know that it is not that easy in the beginning. The reason why you have to do this slowly. If you cannot commit yourself to stop snacking instantly, you have to make a strategy. Take note of the time when you are eating your snacks. After that, you can also list down the amount of food that you are eating. At first, you can lessen the amount of food to eat until such time that you are seeing yourself decreasing in number of snacks. So, if you are eating snacks three times a day, you can probably decrease than into two, one, or none at all. Do this slowly until such time that you have already succeeded.

Chew gums when necessary.If you are already on the process of avoiding snacks in between meals and tempted to eat, you have to do something to get you away from that temptation. Well, there are so many things that you can do. And one of them is chewing gums. When you do this, you are simulating eating without consuming that much. Just bring with you a chewing gum wherever you go for emergency. This is something that you can do.

Drink coffee or tea.If it is your habit to drink coffee or tea, you have an advantage in terms of avoiding snacks.

Drink water.
