We all have that idea
of dieting, right? And we come to a desperate kind of dieting the moment we see
changes in our body figure and health that we do not like. For a woman who is
so concerned with her weight loss, she will do everything she can think of to
satisfy her needs for diet. The same is true with someone who feels like there
is a problem with his health. These are alarms that will make someone decide to
diet.
Well, there is no problem with
the desire to diet. The thing is it is easy to have that desire. Personally, I
can’t count the number of times when I desired to have diet, and I can’t recall
all the reasons either. One thing is for sure, I do this when I am alarmed by
the fact that something is going on in my body and it is not right.
The biggest issue in
dieting is how to stick to it. As I’ve mentioned a while ago, it is easy to
have the desire. We get excited about it. We plan for it. But in the end we
fail to continue with what we have started. I hope the simple ideas you will
learn from here will help you continue with what you have started.
Have the motivation. This is a very important factor – the reason
why I have put this on top of everything. Your motivation to have proper diet
will determine your direction. For example, if you are doing this because you
want to get well or stop a certain addiction, then remind yourself of the
reason why you are on this course. By that you will be able to come back to the
right path when you go astray.
Eat healthy foods but do not deprive yourself of what you like. The
common misconception about dieting is that healthy foods should only be eaten.
Well, that might be true, of course. But don’t be too hard on yourself. I know
that you have something you like to eat. Eat that. Eat with limitation and
control. Treat yourself and enjoy every bite.
Have a proper distinction between hunger and craving. You know that
it is time to eat when you feel that discomfort in your stomach called hunger.
But oftentimes we confuse it with craving. We think that we are hungry where in
fact we just crave for the food. Have a proper mindset on these things because
you might end up eating what you like and not what you need.
